Kimberly Darneille
Born in Houston, Texas, in 1986, Kimberly Darneille has dedicated much of her life to serving and uplifting others. Her journey of faith began early through her baptism in a Baptist church, laying the spiritual foundation that would later sustain her during unimaginable trials. She earned an associate’s degree in elementary education and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, combining compassion, communication, and service throughout both her personal and professional life.
For over twenty years, Kimberly has worked in public libraries, primarily serving at public service desks and leading youth programming before eventually becoming an adult librarian. Her work has always centered around helping people feel seen, supported, and welcomed, qualities that also define the emotional heart of this book.
Beyond her professional life, Kimberly has remained actively involved in music ministry and worship, using faith and community service as extensions of who she is. During Marion’s medical crisis, she became his advocate, caregiver, decision-maker, and emotional lifeline. The experiences documented in this story reveal not only the challenges of navigating medical trauma, but also the extraordinary emotional resilience required to love someone through uncertainty, fear, and recovery.

Marion Darneille
Born in 1976, Marion Darneille’s spiritual journey began when he embraced Christianity through the guidance of Nita Herrington, an experience that shaped the course of his life and deepened his commitment to faith. Long before the medical crisis that would later redefine his world, Marion lived a life centered around work, family, and spiritual growth. He spent 28 years working in retail management, earning a reputation for dedication and resilience until health complications forced him to step away in 2020.
What makes Marion’s story remarkable is not only the severity of the challenges he faced, but the mindset with which he endured them. After surviving nineteen minutes without a heartbeat, months of intensive medical treatment, dependence on an LVAD, and eventually a life-saving heart transplant in 2022, Marion emerged with a renewed understanding of purpose, gratitude, and faith. His experiences transformed suffering into testimony and fear into conviction.
Academically, Marion holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and continues pursuing theological studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and George W. Truett Theological Seminary.
His passion for scripture, perseverance, and spiritual reflection echoes throughout the book, where readers witness not only a medical journey, but the rebuilding of a life through faith, endurance, and unconditional love.
